R2 Day 22 VLCD 149.8 lbs.

149.8 lbs.

Yay! It was fun to see the 140s. However, yesterday was the family Christmas party. I decided to have very small portions of the food. I had too much to do for the party to take time to make my HCG food. I will probably have a slight weight gain, but it won't be too bad.

I am going out of town the next 4 days. I have decided to do strict low carb while I am out of town. It's hard to travel and do the HCG diet. I will get right back on it when I return. I have 1 bottle of drops left. I will just keep going until it's done.

Have a great holiday!!!

Average lbs. lost per week since Aug. 24

As of today, Dec. 17, 2009, I have been on this journey for 115 days or 16.42 weeks. My average lb./week weight loss since August 24, 2009 is . . . 1.47 lbs./week. Not bad.

R2 Day 20 VLCD 150.8 lbs.

150.8 lbs.

I have been on a plateau. Not sure what the culprit is other than I may not be drinking enough water. I am finding it hard to get all my water in. Hopefully I am on my way to the 140s soon!!

R2 Day 16 VLCD 151.6 lbs.

151.6 lbs.

Well, not much of a loss, but it's better than nothing. I really need to get on a better drop/water/food schedule. I really think that makes all the difference. I just got an HCG cookbook from a friend, so I am going to start using those recipes. Hopefully, it will make this more interesting.

R2 Day 15 VLCD 152.0 lbs.

152.0 lbs.

Wow, so ok, that's better. I feel skinnier suddenly. My clothes are getting loose. It feels really good. I just need to get all my drops, water, and food in to keep this up.

R2 Day 14 VLCD 154.8 lbs.

154.8 lbs.

I am having more plateaus than last round. I think I need to be more consistant with the timing of the drops. Also, I am not drinking all my water. Shame on me. I think this works the best when you drink the whole 2 litres per day. I better get my schedule in gear to get my drops and water in. Also, I am not eating all the food. Weird, but true. I need to eat the entire 500 calories.

R2 Day 12 TOM VLCD 154.8 lbs.

154.8 lbs.

Ok, back on track. That feels better!!!

R2 Day 11 TOM VLCD 155.6 lbs.

155.6 lbs.

Maybe shedding that TOM water weight??

R2 Day 10 TOM VLCD 157.0 lbs.

157.0 lbs.

Hmmmm. Plateau. Bah humbug. Maybe this is a bad case of PMS.

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

R2 Day 5 VLCD 156.8 lbs.

156.8 lbs.

Better to have a loss than none at all. I am happy.

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

R2 Day 4 VLCD 157.2 lbs.

157.2 lbs.

Now that's more like it. I'm back in the 150s. Now, it's just smooth sailing from here!

R2 Day 3 VLCD 159.8 lbs.

159.8 lbs.

Not bad. I feel great. I lost 4 lbs. So, I didn't blow it too much.

R2 Day 2 VLCD 164.0 lbs.

164.0 lbs.

AAhh! So, I couldn't handle things emotionally. I feel like I didn't get to load on all the foods I wanted to. My stomach has shrunk so I didn't load that much. I only had 1 plate of food on Thanksgiving instead of 3 plates. I decided to load last night too. So, my loading days turned out to be 2 1/2 days. I feel good about my decision. I only gained 2 oz. This way I feel more mentally and emotionally prepared to handle the next 6 weeks. There were just too many leftovers in the fridge!

Saturday, November 28, 2009

R2 Day 1 VLCD + Night Load 163.8 lbs.

163.8 lbs.

I gained 1.2 lbs. after my 2 load days. Not bad. Last time it was 2.2 lbs. I noticed that I couldn't eat as much as last time.

I am excited for this next round. It will be long and boring, but I am glad I am doing this through Christmas and New Year's. I think I would have been tempted to make too many exceptions.

BTW R2 = Round 2

Round 2 of HCG. I am starting my numbers over.

R2 Day 2 Load 163.4 lbs.

163.4 lbs.

So, I gained about a pound after the first load day.

R2 Day 1 Load 162.6 lbs.

162.6 lbs.

Thanksgiving!! Load day!! Yay!!

Day 92 Maintenance 161.2 lbs.

Day 91 Maintenance 160.6 lbs.

Day 90 Maintenance 159.2 lbs.

159.2 lbs.

I did a liver cleanse over days 88 and 89.

Day 88-1st day: melons and lemon water.

Day 89-2nd day: lemon water, magnesium citrate, olive oil

Day 90-3rd day: you see green balls floating in the toilet that came from your liver!!

And, yes, I saw the green balls from my liver!!!!! It totally worked.

My intention was to move on to a colon cleanse over the next 3 days before starting my 2nd round. But, I threw up the colon cleanse stuff 1/2 way through the day. I had shocked my system a little too much. Normally, I do fine with my colon cleanses (psyllim husks and liquid bentonite clay shaken up in juice). So, I had to just take it easy over Days 90-92.

Day 88 Liver Cleanse 165.0 lbs.

165.0 lbs.

Oh, my goodness! Runaway train! This had to stop! So, I started a liver cleanse.

Day 87 Maintenance 164.8 lbs.

164.8 lbs.

Kept gaining. I think my trip was still catching up to me.

Day 86 Maintenance 163.4 lb.s

163.4 lbs.

Okay, so, I went home to visit my family from Nov. 2 to Nov. 18. I was doing well at first. I allowed myself to get complacent. You see, my parents own a restaurant. They live in the apartment above the restaurant. So, I was eating restaurant food 3 x's a day. I kept saying to myself, I will just relax at this meal a bit and restrict fats and sugars at the next meal. I ended up putting on about 8 lbs. I kept saying, oh I'll just get rid of it during the next round. Well, it would have been nice to start the next round 8 lbs. thinner!!

Also, I wasn't using the scale daily. So, I wasn't keeping myself in check. While it was nice to relax, it was not worth it. I became irritable, sad, and more easily offended at things. I was just mad at myself.

So, don't think you are off the hook ever!

Day 65 P3 2nd3 155.2 lbs.

Day 64 P3 2nd3 157.0 lbs.

Day 62 P2 2nd3 156.2 lbs.

Day 60 P2 2nd3 156.0 lbs.

Day 59 P3 2nd3 156.0 lbs.

Day 58 P3 2nd3 156.2 lbs.

Day 57 P3 2nd3 155.0 lb.s

Day 55 P3 2nd3 154.8 lbs.

Introduced sugar and carbs.

2nd3 = the 2nd 1/2 of maintenance = 3 weeks.

Day 52 P3 1st3 154.4 lbs.

Day 51 P3 1st3 154.4 lbs.

Day 49 P3 1st3 155.8 lbs.

Day 48 P3 1st3 Didn't weigh today

I am going to start doing exercise. I am excited to start incorporating sugar and starch next week. I started back on skim milk. I am having some bloating. Maybe my system isn't used to the dairy after not having it for so long. I am going to keep an eye on this.

I am making a goal to lose at least a pound a week during this phase. If I am successful with this, then perhaps I'll just keep going with that and not do a second round, but for now I am still planning on it.

Day 47 P3 1st3 156.0

156.0

I gained a little, but this is my maintenance phase. I am supposed to be staying around 157.0, my ending weight at the end of round 1. So, I am happy.

Thursday, October 8, 2009

Day 44 P3 1st3 154.4 lbs. 33.7% Body Fat

154.4 lbs.

33.7% Body Fat

I am actually losing a little bit during maintenance. I think that's because I'm doing the strict low carb thing.

I am testing my protein in the urine. I am almost reaching borderline bad for you level. I will keep an eye on that. I tested for ketosis, and yes, that is still a go.

I am feeling great! My clothes are loose! I will get pictures up soon. I am just way too busy right now!!

Day 42 P3 1st3 157.2

157.2 lbs.

P3 1st3 = Phase 3 1st 3 weeks of maintenance

I went out of town for a week-ish. I have maintained my loss. I am very happy about that.

I am doing sort of an Atkins Phase 1 approach. The HCG protocol calls for eating only protein, veggies, fruit, and fat. I am trying not to go crazy on the fat. Also, I am not eating processed or cured meats.

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Day 33 VLCD no drops 2 eggs 157.0 lbs. 34.0% Body Fat

157.0 lbs.

no drops

34.0 % Body Fat

40" Tummy Roll

Wow, so I have maintained the same weight for 3 days! That's awesome! I had my 2 eggs this morning. Oh my gosh they were friggin good! Tomorrow, I start phase 3 1st 3 wks--no carbs, but eat anything. I am so excited! I feel thinner. It feels great.

I will get pictures up sometime soon. But, I am leaving on a business trip for a week. So, I will probably post them when I get back. It will be interesting to see how I can keep this up. I am a third of the way to my goal.

So, I took 20 different measurements around my body. When I add up the difference in inches for all 20 measurements, I have lost 25 1/4 inches off my body!! Here are some big ones: 3 inches off my waist, 3 1/2 inches off tummy roll, 1 1/2 inches off my upper chest (underarm fat), about 2 inches off my upper thighs, 1/2 inch off my upper arms, and even a 1/4 inch off my knee.

So, exercise and low carb diet here I come!!

Saturday, September 26, 2009

Day 32 TOM VLCD no drops 157.0

157.0 lbs.

No drops.

My last day of drops was Day 30. I am going out of town next week, so I decided to quit the cycle one week early. The protocol says that when a trip is more than 4 days long, it's best to skip the protocol. Since my trip is at the end of this cycle, I decided to just end it. Going on a low carb diet will be easier than trying to weigh proteins and carry around cold packs with my food.

Day 31 through 33 will be "no drops" days. But, I still have to maintain the 500 calorie diet. On Day 33, I will be able to add two eggs--yippee!!!

It looks like my weight has stabilized around 157.0. So, from the beginning, I lost 18 lbs. in 32 days. From after load, I lost 20.2 lbs. in 30 days. That averages to be about a 2/3 lb. loss each day. Not bad for a jump start.

I started testing my urine for protein with the albumin strips. I had between "trace" and "30mg." Kidney websites state that if it is 30 or higher, then kidney damage may start and further investigation is necessary. So, I am right at that border of non-acceptable levels. I will continue to keep a close eye on this. My ketones tested about "moderate" so I was losing fat. I am going to keep testing both types. If the protein in my urine gets above acceptable levels, then I may have to add carbs sooner than 3 weeks after the cycle.

I am very excited to add vigorous exercise and have more food. Since I went a month without sugar or starch, I think I now have the discipline to limit these foods for life. This was a lot of work. I don't want to ruin all of the effort that I have put forth to lose these 18 lbs.

My goal now is to not gain more than 2 lbs. during the maintenance phase. I think that will be no problem.

Day 31 TOM VLCD no drops 157.0

157.0 lbs.

See day 32.

Day 30 TOM VLCD 157.4

157.4 lbs.

See day 32.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Day 29 TOM VLCD 157.8

157.8 lbs.

25 drops 3 xs/day

I gained a little, but it's TOM, so I'm not worried. I feel pretty good. I'm still going!

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Day 28 TOM VLCD 157.4

157.4 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

TOM = Time of the Month

TOM started today. The protocol states that you shouldn't take the drops during TOM, but you can if you want. I am going to this time. Last cycle I didn't. I was really hungry!

So, I did the apple thing. Only I could only get 4 apples down instead of the entire 6. I am not a fan of apples! But, I lost about 2 pounds!! Yay! That was fun to see on the scale. So, it could have been just bloating from PMS. Weight lost after an apple day is mostly water, but it shouldn't be regained back (that's what it says). So, we'll see. I resumed the normal hcg diet at dinner. Like I have said, I think the key is timing on drops and water.

I am going to get the albumin test strips. They cost $36 for 100 strips. This will test whether I have protein in my urine. If I have too much protein in my urine, it means that the weight that I am losing is muscle and not fat. I am anxious to see what the result will be. I don't want to cause troubles for my kidneys.

Monday, September 21, 2009

Day 27 VLCD 159.6

159.6 lbs.

35% Body Fat

40 1/2" Tummy Roll

So the only good thing about this morning is the 1/2" I lost around my tummy.

I am definitely on a plateau. There are 2 ways to break a plateau. But, first, you know you are on a plateau when it lasts 4-5 days, which I have.

1. eat 6 large apples w/in 24 hrs from lunch to lunch.
2. take a non-mercurial diuretic

Hopefully, I'll have a large loss of after doing one of these. It will be mostly water, but it's not supposed to be regained back. According to the protocol, this is normal. It also happens during the second half of a 6 week cycle. This describes me, so I hope that's what it is.

I did weigh this morning after 6:30 a.m. I will continue to do that. I have been weighing at different times in the morning, sometimes early, sometimes late.

I will start my water earlier.

It's very frustrating to stay with something so closely and not see a result. The good thing is that this has jump started my weight loss whether I actually lose a pound a day or not. I have lost 15.4 lbs. from Day 1 Load Day. My average has been about a half pound a day, which is about 3 3/4 lbs. per week. This isn't bad. If I was doing a regular weight loss program of diet and exercise, I would be ecstatic to see a 2 pound loss per week. So, I need to be realistic.

I am happy to see the changes that have already happened. I am more disciplined because this takes so much preparation. My face looks thinner. My clothes are more loose. I have to stick with the positives.

Day 26 VLCD 159.6

159.6 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

I fee like I am on a plateau. I'll write more on next post.

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Day 25 VLCD 160.4

160.4 lbs. (weight before elimination-who knows what difference that will make, but I can't wait any longer to start my day)

25 drops just once! I didn't get my drops in!

Ok, so I am gaining. I haven't cheated. It could be:

1. not enough water
2. not taking drops at right times
3. not eating all the food, sometimes I miss a fruit or vegetable--also I like to eat the fruits and veggies with more calories, i.e. onion, tomato
4. pre-bloat, PMS
5. too many servings of beef--I am only supposed to have beef 2-3 times/wk, I have had 5 servings so far because we didn't have chicken in the house for a couple of days. Also, I switched to a better cut of steak but it probably has higher fat. So, I need to switch back to whatever beef is the leanest regardless of the quality of the cut.
6. mahi mahi instead of tilapia--mahi has an * by it in the manuscript as an ok, but caution fish

So, I am going to get my water in, take my drops spaced out right, eat less beef, but more lean beef, switch to tilapia, and just see what happens.

Oh, well, dissapointing, but I will keep going.

Day 24 VLCD 159.2

159.2 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

I didn't lose that much this time. I think it might be because I'm not getting all the water.

About 7:30 a.m., I actually weighed 159.8, same as the day before. Unhappy with that, I just didn't eat or drink anything and weighed again around 10:30 a.m. In that time, I lost the .6 lbs.

Here is my dilemma: I want to weigh early in the morning so that I can start drinking my water early in the day. But, I know that if I wait a little while and wait until after elimination (tmi, but this is how I'm playing this), then my weigh in amount will be less. But, then I don't start eating until later in the day, because I have to start the drops. I hold them in my mouth for 45 minutes and then wait 15 minutes before eating or drinking. So, I am behind all day, trying to get in my food, water, and other drops in a timely manner. If I don't get enough water, then I end up having to use the bathroom more at night. AAh!

So, I am going to bite the bullet. I will just wake up and weigh at about 6:30 a.m. every morning regardless of whether I have had elimination. If I lose more, then great. I just want to see success on the scale. That's how I am staying on this thing. It's really hard and takes a lot of discipline and preparation. I will start this on Sunday.

Day 23 VLCD 159.8

159.8 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

I was very happy to find out that I lost another pound. It is very motivating to keep going.

The thing that I am battling right now is getting enough water. I am getting annoyed with how often I have to use the bathroom. It makes me not want to drink all the water, but I think that's the key to losing. You have to drink enough water in order to flush the fat out of your system.

I took my middle of the day drops about 2 hours late. That threw things off a little. I had no energy by the evening. I went to bed tired and hungry. I still had a fruit left to eat and didn't eat it. I was just too tired. I have been drinking a lot of green tea. I didn't drink as much, so maybe that is helping with my energy.

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Day 22 VLCD 160.8

160.8 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

I admit, sometimes I have a drop or two extra.

I lost a pound. It feels great. I really believe it's the drops on a good schedule and all of the water. Those two things are the key.

I am very pleased with myself, that I have not cheated once, not even a tiny morsel. If anything, I am not getting in all the food. I have sometimes skipped my 2nd vegetable. Not on purpose, but time gets away and I want to sleep instead. But, I am not going to do that anymore!!

Here's a yummy combo--white wine vinegar, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic, and oregano leaves. It is awesome on the veggies. When I am allowed fats again, I will add some olive oil.

I am starting to daydream about food though. I have already started planning my next load days, which start on Thanksgiving. I timed it that way on purpose. Right now the state fair is going and a deep fried twinkie sounds awesome, even though when I am not on this thing that sounds disgusting! Now I want to try everything deep fried.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Day 21 VLCD 161.8 lbs. 34.8% Body Fat

161.8 lbs.

34.8% Body Fat (3.1% fat percentage loss)

41" Tummy Roll (2 1/2" loss)

25 drops 3xs/day

I had a small loss. I think it's because I didn't get all the drops and water yesterday. But, I am glad that I am losing. I am half way through this round. It feels good.

Today I got my middle of the day drops later than I wanted, but at least I'm getting in all the drops. We'll see what happens tomorrow morning.

Day 20 No time to weigh in

I had to leave early in the morning for a continuing legal education seminar. So, I didn't get to weigh in.

I only took about 50 drops. I missed the middle of the day drops. It's important to take all the drops and all the water.

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Day 19 VLCD 162.4

162.4 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

This is awesome!! I feel like I really have a handle on this. It feels good to see the pounds drop.

Spacing everything out really helps. In the last five days, I have lost 4.4 lbs. That's pretty good.

Foods that I have found that travel well: eating a whole tomato like an apple, eating a cucumber like a banana, apple, and orange. The proteins I cook ahead and put in plasticware. Of course, I also bring the Melba toasts, water bottle, stevia, and an herbal tea packet. Sometimes, I'll bring a lemon and a honey wand to use as the "juicer." It works great.

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Day 18 VLCD 163.6

163.6 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

I feel great that I continue to see a loss. I just hope it continues that way. The key is being prepared. I am making sure to prepare what I need ahead of time and also take food and water with me.

I find I am more tired at night, but I am not as hungry.

Day 17 VLCD 164.4

164.4 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

Things are going better. I am less hungry. I feel like I'm getting back on track. It's motivating to see results.

Friday, September 11, 2009

Day 16 VLCD 165.0

165.0 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

This is a lot better. I am hoping that the changes I have made, spacing out food, making sure I drink the water, and taking more drops, helps.

When I am hungry, I either have a food item or it's time for the drops. Or, sometimes, I'll have some herbal tea.

My drop schedule is now: sometime during the 7 a.m. hour, sometime during the 1:00 p.m. hour, and sometime during the 7 p.m. hour. It feels like a good schedule.

Also, I cooked in bulk today. Having the food more readily available to eat also helps.

I tried frozen Mahi Mahi from Costco. It was great, but I think that I'll stick with Tilapia. It cooks up a lot faster and is easier to deal with.

I am really starting to like grapefruit/spinach salads.

Day 15 VLCD 166.0

166.0 lbs.

25 drops 3xs/day

Ok, it looks like I am getting back on track. That's much better!!!

Day 14 VLCD 166.8

166.8 lbs.

I have decided to up the drops to 25 drops 3xs/day. I hope that will help.

Monday, September 7, 2009

Day 13 VLCD 166.6 lbs. 36.0% Body Fat

166.6 lbs. 36.0%

25 drops (7:30 a.m.)

AAAAH!!!! I have gained about 1/2 lb. over the last two days! I don't know if it's because of eating too much of 1 protein and not eating two different kinds Saturday night or not getting enough drops because of the trip or not getting enough water or because I'm ovulating. I could be retaining water for that or my slight sunburn. I could be retaining water for that. I am not cheating on the food, so who knows what this is about! I started taking calcium pills, that could be the culprit. It has cellulose in it. I don't know if that's a sugar.

I am hoping that I drop 2 lbs. in 1 day or something.

My shape is starting to look different. That is motivating.

I am going to up my drops, 20 drops 4xs/day. When my friend ordered them, the doctor told her to take 25 drops 3xs/day. I was starting out at 15 drops 3xs/day. I think that must make a big difference. Plus, I think I am going to spread out my food more. I am going to remedy, the amount of drops, spacing out food, right amount of water, and getting the proteins right. Then, I'll experiment with the calcium pills.

I am not quitting though!

Day 12 VLCD 166.4

166.4 lbs.

25 drops 2xs

We were travelling back from the dunes. So, I didn't get to take drops in the morning. I was too tired at night, so I didn't take them at night either. But, I had all my food. This time, I had Mahi Mahi for the fish. This is a questionable fish, but not prohibited in the manuscript. It's a white fish, though.

I didn't drink all my water. I missed out on about 17 oz.

I went to bed very hungry.

Day 11 VLCD 166.2

166.2 lbs.

25 drops morning

We went to the Sand Dunes to go 4 wheeling. We were planned on staying the night, so I didn't bring my drops. I didn't want to worry about packing them and keeping them cold.

I ate all my food throughout the day and also my water, but I didn't eat any protein until about 11 p.m. Also, I ate about 4-4.5 oz. of chicken at once in a foil dinner. I didn't switch proteins. I didn't prepare ahead of time!!

I was hungry all day.

Friday, September 4, 2009

Day 10 VLCD 167.0

167.0 lbs.

15 drops 4x/day

I am still hungry. Today, I'm tired, but that may be because I didn't get much sleep.

I am determined to finish this. Although, at this point, it feels like forever. I only had a .4 lb loss. At least it is a loss.

Thursday, September 3, 2009

Day 9 VLCD 167.4

167.4 lbs.

15 drops 4xs/day

I feel better. I am still a little hungry in the morning, but I am used to this now. I have started drinking my water earlier in the day. I am making sure that I get my meals around 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Now that I'm getting the hang of this, I am going to start cooking some chicken in bulk. For the steak, I make the 100 g portions, put some in the freezer and 1 in the fridge. Then I rotate them in the morning-1 out of fridge onto counter and 1 into fridge.

I have been using frozen white fish from Costco. The tilapia comes in individual packages. Each portion is about 100 g so it is nice. I just thaw it under hot water. It goes quickly, so I don't have to pull it out in the morning.

I just learned that you have to separate the melba toasts. I only ate them together one time, so I don't think that did anything.

Day 8 VLCD 168.2

168.2 lbs.

20 drops 3xs

I am feeling better, less hungry. I am tired though. That might be because my daughter isn't sleeping through the night.

I have no idea if the hcg is actually working. But, I am losing weight. Who knows if that's water weight or not. My fat % has gone down about 1.5%. Even if it's not working, I am still going to do this. I have decided to try doing 15 drops 4 xs/day.

Also, I need to drink more of the water at the beginning of the day. I am still drinking the required water even if it's too late. That's keeping me up at night too.

Day 7 VLCD 169.8

169.8 lbs.

10 drops/30 drops/20 drops

I am very hungry, so I decided to up the drops.

I think I'll drop posting the diet. Is that helping anyone?? Comments please?

It's pretty much the same every day. I have 2 different veggies everyday and 2 different fruit and 2 different protein. For veggies, I am just rotating through asparagus, tomato, onion, spinach, and cucumber. For fruit, I am rotating through 1 apple, 1 orange, 1/2 grapefruit, or 10 strawberries. For protein, I am rotating through very lean steak, chicken, and a fish of some type.

I didn't eat until about 5:00 p.m. I don't recommend that at all! So, I ended up making an evening meal and a very late meal. I had to make sure and get all the food in.

Day 3 VLCD 172.6

172.6 lbs.

15 drops (8:50 a.m.)(3:15 p.m.)(9:30 p.m.)

This morning I am lethargic, weak, and hungry. I may have to up the dose. I have heard of people on homeopathic hcg having to do that. I will go with 15 at a time through tomorrow. Then, I will go with 20 drops.

I am in ketosis. The test strip says so. Now I need to know if I have too much protein in the urine. So, I will go get some albumin test strips.

I still haven't given up. I am hopeful. I have read that some people are hungry through the 2nd week. I hope that doesn't happen to me, but we'll see.

Tonight, we went on a short hike, 1/2 mile round trip, to a grotto with waterfall. I thought I would be really hurting for energy, but I did fine. I just brought my food with me. I am hungry now though. I am going to finish my tea and take the last round of drops for the day. I have a headache so I am going to take some aspirin.

Diet:
68 oz. water
Juice of 1 lemon used as described
1 melba toast w/stevia & cinnamon
10 strawberries w/stevia
1 cup sauteed onion w/garlic, salt, pepper & stevia

Day 2 VLCD 174.0

174.0 lbs.

15 drops (9:40 a.m.)(4:00 p.m.)(11:20 p.m.--wow, way late!)

It was nice to see a 3 lb. loss. I am a lot more hungry today. I am really hoping that I am doing this right. Now I see that the loading days so important. It just seemed scary to put all of that fatty food into my body in two days. But, as I said, I am really hungry.

My timing is all off. My 1 yr. old daughter was up from 2 am to 5 am. We are trying to straighten schedules out.

This diet is forcing me to play with seasoning combinations. I tried some more today--ok, but I'm still searching for that perfect combo for meats and vegetables. Stevia and cinnamon are awesome!

I am using the ketone test strips. There is a comparison chart on the bottle. Light tan means negative for passing ketones. Dark maroon means that there is a large amount of ketones. Ketones in the urine means that the liver is breaking down fatty acids that have been released into the blood stream. Ketones are the end-product of rapid or excessive fatty-acid breakdown. Ketones will be present in the urine when the ketones in the blood go above a certain level. The idea here is that when on the hcg diet, the body is releasing lots of fat into the bloodstream for use by other cells for energy. So, if the levels are above normal, it means that fat is being broken down. I guess when you are on this thing, you want the test to show a dark color. I tested the night of Day 2 Load and it was negative. I tested today and it was "trace." So, I am curious to see if it will get darker as the days go by.

I haven't switched to taking the drops 6 x/day yet. I am still doing 3x. My husband seems to enjoy the 45 minutes of "quiet time" 3x/day. For once, he gets to do all the talking. heehee.

Diet:
68 oz. water
10 strawberries w/stevia
1 melba toast w/stevia and cinnamon
1 cucumber w/red wine vinegar, salt, pepper, dill, cumin, and mustard powder
1 melba toast used as crouton in cucumber salad
Tilapia w/lemon, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic
Chicken w/garlic, paprika, salt, pepper, marjoram, and parsley

2 cups spinach w/lemon juice, red wine vinegar, dill, salt, pepper, and stevia
1 baked apple w/stevia & cinnamon
Juice of 1 lemon used as described above

Day 1 VLCD 177.2

177.2 lbs.

15 drops (9:30 a.m.)(3:00 p. m.)(8:40 p.m.)

I gained 2.2 lbs. I was curious what those fat loading days would do. I am a little hungry today. But, it's not that bad. I think it's about spacing out the food. I can see why the load days are so important. I think I could have done a little more. My proteins tasted pretty good. I was a little unsure because I'm cooking without butter, oil, or spray. I am noticing I am using a lot more salt than I normally would.

I am probably going to space out the drops over 6 Xs instead of 3.

Diet:
1 cup green tea
2 melba toasts
10 strawberries
1 tomato w/red wine vinegar, salt, pepper, cumin, & garlic powder
chicken w/paprika, garlic, salt, pepper, & stevia
tilapia w/lemon juice, salt, pepper, & dill
2 cups asparagus w/lemon juice, salt, pepper, dill, garlic, & nutmeg
1 pink lady apple, baked w/cinnamon & stevia
Juice of 1 lemon used on the tilapia & asparagus
60 oz. water

By the way . . .

I'll get pictures of my before and what I looked like at 113 soon.

I have decided to hold the homeopathic hcg under my tongue until it doesn't tingle anymore and until it seems like there is hardly a taste. I have been holding it on average for about 45 minutes. I know that the websites are only saying you need about 10 minutes, but I am paranoid about this working. I don't mind the quiet time.

Also, I am going to post my fat % and tummy roll inches once a week.

VLCD = very low calorie diet

Day 2 Load 176.6

176.6 lbs.

15 drops (9:40 a.m. woke up late)(2:00 p.m.)(10:15 p.m.-woops kinda late!)

Wow, I feel like a gluttonous pig! But, I am not as lethargic as I thought I was going to be. My husband and I had fun trying to find the most fattening foods to eat, both at the restaurant and at the grocery store. But, it is also a challenge. A lot of foods don't have as much fat as I thought. Many companies are trying to make their products more healthy.

It is my understanding that the foods that should be eaten on load days should have lots of fat since the idea is to build up normal fat reserves. So, my gorging has been mostly about the fat and not the sugar.

It is hard work! I am a bit turned off now. Today seems more like a chore than a treat. But at the same time, I am trying to savor each bite as kind of a send off to this type of eating. I am hoping that this experience will change my habits. I look to food as a reward, the "I'm worth it" thing. I really should be buying jewelry or something else instead. But, I don't buy things, I eat out. I love being waited on and ordering something that tastes good.

Well, really, the only thing I am looking forward to today is Ben & Jerry's Phish Food--my absolute favorite ice cream.

Diet:
2 glasses skim milk
1 glass orange juice
4 hash brown patties
1 sausage patty
2 eggs scrambled
3/4 pint Ben & Jerry's Phish Food
2 Banquet beef pot pies
Finished off chocolate chip mint ice cream from freezer
1 cup potato salad
3 Krispy Kreme donuts

Ok, day is over. I am so looking forward to healthy food! I am going to get some Ketostix to measure whether I am actually losing fat or losing muscle. So, I will go to a pharmacy tomorrow.

Day 1 Pre-Load

Got my homeopathic drops in the mail directly from an out-of-state naturopathic center--not ordered from a website. The local centers were too expensive. The mark up is ridiculous, and the difference is the "coaching" and "monitoring." Not too worried about that, so onward I go. The referral for the naturopath came from a friend who had success with the homeopathic drops. I have read the protocol, Dr. Simeon's manuscript, Linda Prinster's book, and have read several websites and blogs. I have made my shopping list and have started thinking about what I want to eat today.

I am anxious to start the process. Thus, I am sitting here at my computer at 3:17 a.m. For the program to work, you have to have 6-8 hrs. of sleep. I am hoping that not getting good sleep the night before I start won't make much of a difference.

The bottle says to take 10 drops 3x/day. I have read on other blogs that some still feel hungry and should start with 15 drops 3x/day. Then, after that if still feeling too hungry, up it to 20 drops 3x/day. I ordered 4 bottles, so I have plenty to last me through a 40 effective day round. I have 50-60 lbs. to lose. I am hoping to drop at least half that weight during my first round. I think I will start with 15 drops, so we will see how that goes.

Today's Agenda:
1. Try to get some sleep before my 1 yr. old daughter wakes up
2. Weigh in and take measurements
3. Start eating 3000 - 4000 calories
4. Go shopping for 500 cal diet food and a mail scale that measures in grams
5. Drink lots of water
6. Get organized--maybe even start creating 100g protein portions and freezing

So, to quote the Peter Pan ride at Disneyland . . . "Here we goooooooo!" Or, maybe here I go is more appropriate. Either way, wish me luck!
